Drama at the Theatre

An uncharacteristic visit to the Theatre brings the coterie together one windy night in March.

  • Gideon wishes to see a show that is more or less in line with his taste - a remake of Phantom of the Opera focussing on the horror: not a Theatre goer by nature, he looks forward to catching a show.

  • Fredegar is asked by Jurgis to follow up on some intelligence that there is something afoot at the Auditorium Theatre.

  • Trilobyte is likewise asked to observe possible activity at the Auditorium from his superiors.

  • Anthonio is asked to go on a date with Emily there

Also in attendance is Neally, who has a private box. And Balthazar, with a small troupe of suited goons, who was sat in the high seats near the coterie - though before taking a seat he took the opportunity to insult the coterie, of course.

During the first act, they note that Annabelle has made an appearance besides Neally. They talked amongst themselves and then she left.

During the intermission, Fredegar scouted around trying to garner intelligence and locate Annabelle. Trilobyte met with Annabelle who invited him to her Change Day party the following month and promised to introduce him to Bobby Weatherbottom.

The show started up again (though Anthonio was now missing), but was interrupted as a gang noisily burst in preceded by a flying usher. Neally leaves, and Fredegar attempted to follow - briefly interacting with the gang as he left.

One of the gang, looking like a biker gangster from the 1950s with a scar running the length of his face giving him a permanent grimace, implored them to throw off the shackles of the Camarilla and join the Sabbat and gain freedom. Gideon was mostly put out since the show was being disturbed. Balthazar and his goons then attempted to intercede and a fight broke out. The performance stops and the crowds quickly begin to filter out as bone breaking combat goes on. Trilobyte retreated to a safe distance, Gideon remained where he was and did not get involved but for a self-defensive withering of the scarred Sabbat member.

The Theatre took a thrashing, and facing a pack of Sabbat, with all his goons critically injured or worse, he eventually fleed during which a significant chunk of masonry is dislodged from a more recent addition to the Theatre, the crumbled remains of cement ominously resembling a hand holding a stake. The Sabbat soon left and Trilobyte and Gideon began to do likewise, meeting Fredegar outside the auditorium doors who had failed to keep track of Neally.

Gideon caught sight of the scarred Sabatt member making his way back into the auditorium and followed. He was making his way to the felled masonry. Gideon dived onto his back forcing into the stake like piece of cement and began to wither him while Fredegar held him down. They beat a hasty retreat with their now chained and withered captive to their shielded base in the Industrial complex.

There they questioned him, though he was still somewhat uncooperative. They learned that he was looking for a friend and that his name was Bach though he refused even on pain of torture, to reveal the location of his packmates. After receiving compensation for the ruined night, Gideon freed him. Meantime, Fredegar returned to the scene of the violence. There was a significant police presence, but the Auditorium was empty but for the dead bodies. Fredegar established that there was a person trapped in the cement, and that they seemed to have been staked. After some security precautions he removed the stake.

The Kindred that burst free slaked his thirst on a nearby body. He was called Jefferson and he was staked around 1967. He thanked Fredegar and they both left enshrouded as the police came to investigate the outburst he made upon learning the date.

Lodin's Price aka the Rise and Fall of Fredegar Edwards

They were summoned to Lodin at Sears Tower. After Balthazar had laid his accusations against them for standing by during the attack, they had their say - arguing that Balthazar seemed to have the situation well in hand.

Lodin thought for a moment, and decided that Balthazar had exacerbated the situation and that Gideon, Trilobyte and Fredegar had failed in their obligations to preserve the Masquerade. He announced that they must drink of his blood as punishment. This Balthazar does, but Fredegar refused. Claiming that since he left, he had no part in the proceedings. Lodin disagreed, the Masquerade was already threatened by their entrance display. Still Fredegar refused, emploring Lodin to reconsider, still Lodin insisted calling upon the Second Tradition: Domain, as Prince his word was law in Chicago. Fredegar refused yet again. Lodin, motioned to Balthazar who grabbed hold of Fredegar and began to roughhouse him away into an ajoining room. Gideon joined in Fredegar's protest, assuming Fredegar was going to be physically punished for his insurbodination.

Fredegar broke free from Balthazar then, and left the office and slammed the door shut behind him. He fled through the haven, Balthazar hot on his heels with Gideon behind him. Fredegar found himself in a dining room, close to, but not yet at the exit. Blocking his escape route were two armed men attired like a SWAT team. Fredegar flipped the table up, and usied it as a combination shield and ram he charged the guards who opened fire, causing minimal injury to Fredegar. The table now weakened Fredegar burst through it into the Reception area and quickly out through into the external corridor. He evaded the guards there long enough to burst throught window on the 174th floor of Sears Tower with supernatural strength.

And began a quarter of a mile fall, twisting in turning in the currents surrounding the tall buildings.

Hitting the ground at 60metres a second, a little over 120mph, or a little under mach 0.1 was disastorous to Fredegar's wellbeing and caused some considerable damage to the road. After a moment of being stunned, he forced himself up off the ground and staggered away from amazed onlookers wherein he Radagasted their dark browns and quintessentially smoked a cock shaped cigar as he galloped away on a metallic penis. Nobjockey style.

Balthazar and Gideon rode the lift down, Gideon giving the code signal to Anthonio. Balthazar strongly suggested that Gideon should go home, and Gideon for some reason complied. When he realizes that he was Dominated I'm sure he'll be impressed.

Meantime, Trilobyte consented to the punishment, drank the blood and left - once Lodin had opened the security vault they had waited out the excitement in.
