Babylon 5 Update - Freedom Station

Dinner was served at Captain Torgrimson's table in the functional galley aboard the Veil of Tears. Discussion was friendly despite the passengers having been unwittingly involved in a raid against two Brakiri transports and Kadren and G'Kruse even helping out with the repairs. Questioned about the raid Torgimson denied that this is regular occurrence and that this raid provides the perfect cover for them to arrive at freedom station without raising too many questions. He promised that any profits made from the raid would be returned to the Brakiri government, although everybody sat at the table seemed a bit skeptical of this promise. Discussion continued late into the night as Torgrimson described the delicate balance between freedom and anarchy that is Freedom station. Lawrence asked Torgrimson for a favor, requesting that the Veil of Tears take a wide flight path to the station so that they can pass nearby asteroid field where the Drazi prison Ranasha is located. Torgrimson agreed he owed the group for their help with repairs during the raid and said he would pass as close as he could without making it obvious what they were doing.
A day or so later Lawrence is called to the bridge for the first time as the Veil of Tears passes the Tirrith systems asteroid field. His scans revealed the site of the prison detecting a cluster of 10 buildings and almost 100 life forms. Several of the building appeared to be arrayed in as surface defenses with energy signatures that suggested a direct approach to the prison without a good sized fleet would be foolish. Soon the prison passed out of sensor range and the hulking form of Freedom station appeared in the starry sky.
The veil of tears docked directly with the station between a large Narn frigate and a Tirrith Freestate patrol ship. Disembarking from the cargo bay Torgrimson wish Kadren, Lawrence, Jill, Seth, Nakir, and G'Kruse good luck in their mission and promised the he would wait at least 3 days for them but any longer than that and he will start to have difficulties. The group left the Veil of Tears and found themselves in freedoms stations arrivals lounge if it could be called that. Several dirty benches scattered around and a broken terminal in the corner. At the far end several Tirrith Guards dressed in blue and gold check id cards as arrivals passed though two doors towards either the commercial Alpha district or the Residential Beta district. Before the group could progress any further a Japanese looking women dressing in black approached the group introducing herself as Sayuri Nakamura as skilled hacker sent by Mr Anderson to aid in the rescue of Michael Hendrickson.
Seth and Nakir separate from the group heading into Beta district to find contacts from which they may get some information, meanwhile Lawrence, G'Kruse Kadren, Jill and Sayuri entered Alpha district to find some accommodation and plan their next move. Alpha District is a hodgepodge of businesses, establishments and eateries each appearing worse than the last. Each build is built from whatever was available at the time and could be scavenged giving the appearance of a neon lit junkyard! Litter and dirt is everywhere. The district is very busy with mainly aliens from the non aligned worlds along with a scattering of Centuri and Narn. Most move in groups of 4 or more eying the obvious new comers cautiously. As they made they way down the central corridor looking for a reasonable place to stay that wasn't a brothel an old human woman dressed in rags and hobbling ith a walking stick cries out to Lawrence and Sayuri. She pleads for them to come into her shop of exotic pets promising them marvels that can't be found anywhere else. Pushing her aside they continue their exploration of Alpha district. Eventually G'Kruse spots an establishment "R'Toks" with a flashing sign in Narn that suggests there are rooms available. The woman behind the reception spits on the floor as they approach and cackles as she charges an extortionate amount for two tiny rooms on the first floor. G'Kruse asks where there is a good place to get information and she suggests either trying T's Bar or Franks general store.
After securing a room the group divides to try and find out what they can about the prison and if Hendrickson was brought through here. G'Kruse and Kadren head to T's Bar whilst Lawrence, Jill and Sayuri head over to Franks General Store to get some supplies and see what he knows. G'Kruse and Kadren find the gloomy bar that is T's bar, inside is relatively quiet a few pak'ma'ra chattering in one corner and a group of brutish Narn drinking at the bar. G'Kruse and Kadren take a table away from the other patrons. T's Bar is run by a Narn with very dark skin a condition G'Kruse recognizes as Alreth similar to albinism in humans. The hulking limping dark narn introduced himself as T'Shon. After a short discussion G'Kruse and Kadren bribe T'shon for information concerning Ranasha prison, he says he can think of three ways to get into the prison, the first is to fly there and attack the colony however the asteroid is very heavily defended. The second is to get arrested for a serious offense however the chances of being killed rather than sent to the prison are very high. The final way is to either capture or stowaway the prison supply ship. For a further "fee" T'shon explains that a Drazi sky serpent docks at the station on a weekly basis to take supplies to the prison colony and that it is due to make its next stop tomorrow at 1400 hours. He recommends finding a drazi to help as otherwise it could get very difficult. As the two prepare to leave and head back to R'Toks hotel the group of narn at the bar strut over to where they are sitting and start to jeer and insult the minbari bone head and his pet narn. Despite the insults Kadren and G'Kruse quickly diffuse the situation and leave without a poo slinging fight.
Meanwhile Lawrence, Jill and Sayuri again ignoring the poor old crag nanny selling exotic pets (Jill even telepathically stops her) heading back up the main causeway to find Franks general store. A small understated sign hung over the door way but as the three entered automatic lights clicked on illuminating a vast array of neatly stacked shelves containing a wide myriad of equipment and gear. A middle aged human man dressed in overalls and with a large greying beard welcomed them to his store pleased to have human company for a change. After buying some general supplies Jill discovered a strange helmet made from the same psi-blocking material as the strange boxes back on Babylon 5. Sayuri also found some odd pills capable of helping suppress pain and shock during extreme conditions. Lawrence paid Frank for information about the prison colony but he didn't know much about the place but he did think that he heard a rumor that a centuari named Targo Rashi had managed to go there and come back! He also thinks that the centauri is still here living in the centauri ghetto. Quickly the three head through to the far end of Alpha District to a make-shift barrier of scrap metal leading into the centauri ghetto. Beyond the barrier there are the stripped hulls of several spacecraft and a sign written in centauri advertising specialist ship repairs and upgrades. As the three approach the barrier a group of large centauri with short hair step out demanding they turn around and don't look back. After a bit of discussion and threats eventually a more smartly dressed centauri with big hair steps out of a nearby building to find out what the commotion is about.
Eventually they are able to convince the centauri they have business with Targo. Targo admits that he has been to Ranasha prison colony but refuses to tell them anything for less than one of the Primary Thrust Regulators from the veil of tears. (He strangle knew more about them than he first appeared to)
Returning to the Veil of Tears Lawrence and Jill convince Captain Torgrimson ( with the help of some telepathic persuasion) to part with a spare regulator (worth about 20,000 credits) in exchange they would own him an enormous favor which he will call upon some time after their mission is finished.
Targo Rashi is pleased with the thrust regulator and in return draws a detailed map of the prison layout and where the human prisoners might be. He also points out that the prisons are regularly taken onto the surface as a work team to mine quantium40. However, he refuses to reveal how he got there and back.
Meanwhile Kadren and G'Kruse investigate the launch bay where the prison supply ship is scheduled to dock. As they are looking around a Drazi hiding amongst some crates call G'Kruse over. The Drazi explained how his brother has been taken to Ranasha Prison and that he heard a rumor that G'Kruse and his companions are trying to get the prison colony. The Drazi named Kareel thinks that they can be mutually helpful to each other. G'Kruse is suspicious but agrees to introduce Kareel to the rest of the team.
After having investigated various avenues everyone met back at "R'Toks" and Kareel was introduced. After here the story of his imprisoned brother Jill conducts a scan discovering that he is in fact an independent Drazi agent waiting for an opportunity to betray them and impress his superiors and maybe get a promotion. Although he is going to betray them he has not told anyone else of their plan and does not plan to betray them until they are actually in the prison where he can claim all the glory for their capture.
