Krenyenko leapt from the black van and ran for the bookshop smashing through the door and running to the sewer entrance in the basement, the distorted sounds of combat suddenly going silent with a whooshing sound. The trap door still open, he leapt down into the sewer stopping in his tracks, Zukov, Volyova, Hurst and Oleg are sprawled about the tube like abandoned sewer. Radavan and the second amalgam a missing along with the tradition mages and Hit-Marks. The group slowly come round from the immense shock of being flicked across 1000 years of time in a split second, as Kreyenko tries to discover what has happened there is a displacement in the stale air of the sewer, six orange suited figures dressed in bright orange jump suits with silver trimming and square mirrored helmets materialise surrounding the recovering agents. The lead newcomer steps forwards removing his helm, revealing graying hair and Japanese features. He introduces himself as Commander Otori of the Void Engineer Chrononaughts, here because a massive quantum time nexus was detected in the area.

The amalgam is escorted back to the UMC and undergoes debriefing with Supervisor Conrad and Mr Umbridge. Commander Otori asks to take Volyova aside and reprimands her for breaking the time travel protocols and interacting with the local people, he announces that she is to undergo a training course on dealing with time anomalies. The debriefing over the amalgam splits off to take some leave.

Oleg heads down to the labs in search of Dr Yankovich to get repairs of the destoryed cybernetic arm, Yankovich welcomes him warmly but declines to be the one to make any adjustments to Oleg as the symposium have put the project directly in the hands of Dr Vlad and even though he is Vlads superior he does not want to interfere with the symposiums direct orders. Oleg persists even bringing Zukov into the argument but Yankovich is adamant he can't interfere all he can offer is to check over the work later. Vlad takes Oleg away and begins the repairs and starts wiring Olegs cerebral implants up to his computer systems.

Meanwhile, the interrogation of the two people taken from their bed in the book shop begins, Hurst employs a subconscious manipulation of the males dream state creating the illusion of waking whilst keeping the mage under heavy sedation. Agent Krenyenko backs him up monitoring both neural outputs ready to take action if Hurst gets into trouble. Playing the part of the wife Hurst discovers the book shop is a new chantry for the Cult of Ecstasy headed by a powerful mage simply known as "The 3rd Star". The 3rd Star was leading the members of the chantry in a powerful ritual to travel back and alter history so that a child by the name of "Bogdan Knoss" could be assassinated. Hurst learns the addresses and names of the 10 acolyte members of the chantry. Interrogation of the woman reveals no new information but she is uninitiated into the ways of the mages and Hurst recommends conditioning and induction into the Union.

Zucov privately contacts Conrad and takes off on a one man mission to seek out and capture any remaining cult of ecstasy chantry members. Taking a Hit-Mark he heads out in the dead of night to the addresses extracted from the captives. Each address is found to be empty some look to be in the process of unpacking two of the apartments and totally deserted and empty. Returning to the UMC Zukov begins searching for information of this Bogdan Knoss character, finding few references to him in the database:

[ He was born around 1017 AD and became adviser to the Grand Prince of Novgorod and Kiev Yaroslav I "the Wise". (I forgot this in the actual session I had originally had him born much later around the time of Nicolas II but then change it to much earlier in the time line) During this time he became an active member of the order of reason. However records are hazy about how exactly he was involved. ]



Zukov also finds a hidden and encrypted file called "The Knoss Solution" on one of the symposium databanks, he quickly clones the file onto his own hardware requesting his device to try and crack the encryption. It unfortunately fails to do so.

Meanwhile the rest of the amalgam have hit their beds for a some rest, Krenyenko awakens suddenly in his darkened apartment still untidy from the recent break in. The hairs on his neck standing on end, as the grogginess of sleep fades he hears sounds coming from the main living area. He reaches under his pillow and pulls out his gun, dressed only in his CSI:Miami pajamas he moves through to the lounge. The apartment is lit by the flickering light of the TV a single clip from the TV show Babylon 5 playing repeatedly. Mimbari Assassin "There is a Hole in Your Mind" Krenyenko calls the rest of the amalgam and quickly Hurst and Volyova are there, but the scanners show nothing other than the quickly fading residual signature of primium energy and a spacial distortion.

The next day the amalgam are summoned to the boardroom for a mission briefing, Supervisor Conrad and special agent Markel of the syndicate are waiting for them. The group are briefed on a long term Financial Division Project at the UMC to purchase a large amount of land to the north of Moscow where the neutralized cairn had resided. The land value had plummeted to pollution in the area forcing the owner to sell. The deal had almost been sealed for a very reasonable price, however, a second company "Sultan Engineering" have cut into the deal and offered an unexpected high price for the land. Obviously the technocracy could easily top the offer but the Financial operations department want a full report on who these newcomers are and why they want the land. Markel has been put in charge of the operation and he has requested the DCAP prime amalgam to assist in the investigation.

After the basic mission parameters are set out and discussed the group disperses to prepare special agent Markel pulls Volyova to one side asking her about the details of the events that took place in the monastery, he seemed very interested in the Bogdan Knoss birth. After quizzing her for awhile he offers to take her out for a meal the next evening. Reluctantly but think it a good opportunity to pick his brains she agrees.

After requisitioning the required gear and searching the databases for all information pertaining to Sultan Engineering, discovering that the cloned Mr Abeu was the financial director and remembering that Mr Rosco one of the leads from the storage facility break supposedly worked for them. The agents ready to roll Krenyenko setting up a Tele Communications cover for the amalgam, zukov requests a private meetings in a nearby public park. The group gather and zukov begins explaining that he has found a secret locked file on Bogdan Knoss. He believes that the amalgam working as a group and combining their scientific knowledge could crack the file, he has a location in mind one of the cult of ecstasy acolytes apartments.

The group separates and make their way to the secret meeting place Zukov, Volyova, Krenyenko, Hurst and Oleg. As soon as they arrive the amalgam sets up and begins combining equipment and devices in an attempt to crack the encryption, as they near completion the sound of helicopters and men in the street below intrude on the research. Zukov with out hesitation grabs his equipment and tells the others to meet at the Goslan Mall phases through the window and flies off into the sky building up massive amounts of paradox. Volyova follows shortly, krenyenko activates his cloak as she leaps out the window, and the next moment an explosion blast the room Volyova flies off without looking back but Krenyenko, Hurst and Oleg are trapped in the blast as UMC agents close in on the building. Volyova and Zukov try and avoid the search groups but everywhere they go the union shortly follows, eventually Zukov catapults himself into low orbit in a cocoon of air. Whilst Volyova decides to return to the UMC and hand herself over but is caught sneaking into and around the facility wearing a facial reconstruction mask.

Volyova finds herself dragged before Conrad, Yankovich, Markel and Umbridge who stand over the unconscious forms injured of Hurst and Krenyenko. Conrad grills her demanding answers, Volyova tells them about their suspicions and conspiracies but they fail to see this a justification for trying to hack into a file specifically locked by the symposium on an unrelated historical figure, and how this lead to a massive fall out that verged on the level of reality deviance. She is then taken away for conditioning. The others are slowly roused in turn and interrogated, Hurst tries his best to fight the accusations but the evidence is damning and Krenyenko is too injured having lost his arm, leg and partial torso in the explosion.

Next door Vlad hooks Oleg up to his computer systems, and begins downloading all the implant data as he snivels "Yes, Oleg you did well....." Oleg begins to realize that Vlad was watching the whole time through the implants.


In low orbit, zukov finds himself trapped he contacts his old mentor near autocthonia through a comms sat but he has little advice. Zukov makes a last ditch attempt to break the encryption using the machine device and partially succeeds gaining access to a detailed time line of Bogdans life linking him with the artefact's recovered so far. There is reference to a great crime talking of him being hunted by the council of nine traditions to the ends of the earth. Avoiding capture for many years and was eventually found in Greece and after a long chase though the middle east he was captured in Egypt where he was supposedly destroyed by a cabal of arch mages. Zukov decides to hand himself over to Conrad and the UMC but first he will cleanse his mind and back it up onto the device.
