Blasting its way out of the Ranasha penal colony's shuttle bay, the hijacked Sky Serpent carrying the extraction team and their rescued prisoner Micheal Hendrix flew out across the barren asteroid beneath the firing arc of the prison defenses. Kadren at the helm with Vansen on sensors and Seth manning the weapons systems the heavy fighter shuttle found a suitable and safe escape trajectory from the prison asteroid. The Narn G'Cruse was left to tend the critical human patient. With only his basic knowledge of human biology and his Narn battlefield medical training he managed to stabalise Hendrix but he desperately needed more serious surgery to stop the internal bleeding.

As the shuttle streaked out the asteroid field towards the distant jump gate long range sensors detected a large Drazi Sun Hawk cruiser on an intercept course! As the cruiser began to close in on the much smaller Sky Serpent a second blip appeared on the sensors on a course from Freedom station, Captain Torgrimson and the Veil of Tears. Changing course Kadren managed to flip the Sky Serpent around and position it behind the Veil of Tears only taking a small amount of fire from the Sun Hawk.



The Veil of Tears and the Sun Hawk locked themselves in battle blasting away at each other all weapons blasting in the night. Although taking heavy damaged from the Veil of Tears the Sun Hawk clearly out classed Captain Torgrimson. Quickly coming about the Sky Serpent rejoined the battle pulling an impressive close quarters flyby which enabled Seth to seriously damage the Sun Hawks Cargo Bays...... however, wasting little time the Sky Serpent made a second pass of the Sun Hawk this time disabling critical weapons systems. Realising that they stood no chance of defeating the Veil of Tears and the Sky Serpent with critical weapons systems down the Drazi Sun Hawk turned and flew with its tail between its legs back towards Darzi space. Tacking a last few pot shots at the flee Drazi the Veil of Tears docked with the Sky Serpent. Torgrimson discouraged any further pursuit of the Sun Hawk as the Veil of Tear had already take significant damage and would need repairing before they made the journey back to Babylon 5.

Docking back at Freedom Station it was clear that Micheal might not even survive the journey back to Babylon 5. Vancen decided that the best way to help him was to find a stasis pod. Heading out into the junk yard bazaar of freedom station he sought out Frank, who they had previously brought equipment from. Frank admitted that he did not have any stasis pods but he had heard of someone selling some from a recently salvaged colony ship, however, they would likely be very expensive. Acting as mediator in the deal Frank agreed to deliver the stasis pod to the bay where the Veil of Tears was docked. 

Meanwhile Seth, Kadren and G'Cruse began a search for the missing Nakir. After bribing a rather unfriendly Tirrth security officer they discovered that station records show that Nakir had left the station on a Narn ship over a day ago. Seth also meets his ranger Pak'ma'ra contact Vurk who after checking around confirms that Nakir was seen leaving the station with two Narns on a ship headed for Brakiri space.

Using parts from the Sky Serpent and whatever else they can find the Veil of Tears is repaired and ready to make the journey back to Babylon 5. Meanwhile the stasis pod is delivered and installed with the help of the ships medical officer and Seth returns equipment to the Ranger hide out and makes his report to his superior back on Babylon 5.

2 weeks later the Veil of Tears arrives back in the Epsilon Irdani system and its passengers disembarked back onto Babylon 5. Mr. Anderson met them at the shuttle bay and congratulates them on a successful mission and hands out the payment promised. Micheal is transferred to Medlab 1 and the capable hands of Doctor Franklin. Shortly afterwards he is transferred back IPX headquarters on Earth.

Things once again settle down on Babylon 5. G'Cruise takes another security contract, and after seeing a flyer for the "Mu Tai" begins training to take part in the legendary alien fighting tournament. Kadren and Vansen return to their daily routines and Seth goes back to working at the DarkStar. One eveing whilst working the bar there and watching for "signs" he notices an obvious new comer to the station, a very smartly dressed man asking questions of the Dark Star customers. Listening closely he manages to overhear the name "Alison Ferdenaz" (The diplomatic aid that works with Mr Anderson). Eventually the man approaches the bar and orders a drink. Drawing him into conversation Seth discovers that his name is Ian Mcleary and that he is claiming to be an ex-college of Alison Ferdenaz back at the diplomatic HQ back on Earth, who he desperately needs to find.

Later on after he has left Alison Ferdenaz herself comes into the Dark Star and sits at the bar having a drink. Seth describes the man he saw earlier and Alison is shocked that he is here looking for her. She explains that she used work for Earth Gov diplomatic core and was very quickly rising through the ranks. However, a few years back someone framed her for embezzling funds and she was expelled from the diplomatic core. Ian Mcleary was one of the people responsible for making the decision to have her dishonorably discharged. She was lucky to find work with Mr. Anderson otherwise she would be completely lost.

After pouring her heart out she turned to Seth, battered her long eye lashes and asked if he would help her. She does not want to meet Ian alone as she is afraid of why he is here. Seth agrees and a few hours later after his shift they go and find Ian Mcleary.

Ian is pleased to see Alison and quickly he apologizes to her for the method of his arrival and for his role in her dismissal from the diplomatic core. He explains that the evidence at the time was overwhelmingly against her but recently information has come to light that it was all a set up. He explains that he has come to help her clear her name. To do this he says they must break into the office of her old boss who he believes is somehow involved in the set up, and recover a data crystal that contains a record of his communications during the time leading up to Alison’s disgrace.

Alison is very excited about the news and instantly agrees to try and get this data crystal. Turning to Seth she asks if he is willing to help her, she has nothing to offer in payment but would be eternally grateful. She asks if he could maybe convince the others if they would help her too.
