The social evening wore on until late. Gideon learned that his sire and Annabelle were at odds with one another and that Gideon's embrace may never have happened and he revelled in irritating her for the remainder of the evening.
Live orchestral music drew the evening to a close.
After which Annabelle stood up, her words obfuscated by an outburst of fake coughing and other bodily noises coming from one corner of the room. Whatever was said, Drummond clearly took offense and left in a hurry, eventually Gideon caught up with him to offset the insult with a compliment about the expo before retiring.

And so the Gary coterie rested for a while. Anthonio resting and drug dealing, slowly healing the terrible wounds he had sustained. He began to carve himself a small niche in the Succubus club drug dealing scene. It wasn't fantastic money, but it was good enough to get by.
Anthonio managed to get one of his guns back, after some to do with someone who tried to rob him - gaining himself a rather dubious ghoul in the process.
One night, Saturday 25th 1992, the coterie found themselves on yet another typical night in the Succubus club. A live band played downstairs and Anthonio found himself making a pretty penny. In the labyrinth he came across an act of violence that he half-heartedly interfered with - almost earning himself a beating. The victim, a young man, wept and wailed and cried and screamed: Anthonio awkwardly pushed the man from him, attempted some placating words and then left.
Anthonio also happened upon two kindred playing chess in Elysium. One of players was Critias, who was at the rail expo, the other was a new face. The new face introduced himself jovially to Anthonio as Dimitri. The conversation was cut short by an irritated Critias "I must have concentration!".
There was much attention on Trilobyte, who had come on 'Tremere business' to meet with Gordon Keaton who had not been able to turn up. He had said he would be returning Sunday night. Later that evening he met a pretty young lady who had some interesting information for Trilobyte: mortals who had learned to use Kindred blood to enact their own form of Thaumaturgy. She promised to drive him to meet them, and let him look over their notebooks in exchange for some Kindred blood. This he agreed to do and he stepped into her Convertible parked out back and they drove away.
In the glovebox was one of the aforementioned notebooks and Trilobyte spent the journey flicking through this and asking questions of the young lady, named Darlene. Before he could react with cunning magics of his own, he found himself impaled upon a giant wooden stake that had been suspended over a quiet road and given extra weight by means of what appeared to be a small safe. His blood was drained and he was eventually thrown into a hermetically sealed vault.
The next night, his absense was felt deeply by the coterie as they spent the night once again at the Succubus club. Although they had decided that Trilobyte's absense was rightly blown - they knew the Tremere have their own peculiar ways and they imagined that he was murdering the night with Kazaan!
Once again, the two chess players were there, but this time Critias came to them. He was a jovial fellow, passionate about chess and the world. Was fascinated with American homogeneity and monoculture. He declined a challenge from Fredegar, graciously pointing out that he would not be any challenge and besides, it would take too long to explain the rules: it seems that Dimitri had seen many rule changes in the world of chess, maybe even inventing a few himself.
The night drew to an end. But Fredegar's night had only just begun. He was accosted as he entered the Winnebago, a hammer blow to his head followed quickly by a stake rammed through the heart and the aforementioned blood removal. Fredegar found himself waking up in the aforementioned vault. A few drops of blood from an animal corpse bringing him around. He was not alone, Trilobyte sat slumped against the wall. The vault door opened, a young man was thrown in, and the as the shadows passed from the figure in the vault entrance Dimitri's face was recognized by Fredegar.
"Hehehe, excellent - first I capure you two and now...a pawn!"
I want a rebirth of glory: a renaissance of power. I want to stop running through my life like a man running late for an appointment, afraid to look back or to look forward...I want it all back the way that it was!
